Maritza Sosaya, Founder and Director

Maritza Sosaya is a native Spanish speaker and Early Childhood Educator from Lima, Peru. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked in the education field, specifically with preschool-aged children, for over 30 years. In her native country of Peru, she founded and ran her own Preschool for twelve years, which grew to have over 100 children per year enrolled in the program. But Maritza had a larger vision: She wanted to create a program that would teach children from diverse backgrounds about her native language and culture. Along with her two daughters, she moved to the United States and began teaching Spanish at an Immersion Preschool & Day Care in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2010, she founded the Vienna Immersion Program, VIPkids, in her home in Vienna, VA. VIPkids continues to grow and has expanded into an After School Program, a Summer Camp, and is also listed in Fairfax County Public Schools’ list of after school vendors.

About VIPkids

VIPkids Vienna Immersion Program is a home-based Spanish Immersion Preschool and After School Program located 20 minutes outside of Washington D.C. in Vienna, VA. Our classroom environment is safe and welcoming, and it has been adapted for preschool and elementary school-aged children. Our location is licensed by the State of Virginia to operate as a home day care, although our Programs follow a structured class schedule.

In the Preschool Program, one teacher and one assistant lead the class, since the individual needs of each child are very important in a preschool setting. Both the teacher and assistant are CPR trained, First Aid certified, and have CPS background checks. In the After School Program, one teacher leads the class, and depending on the size of the group, an assistant may join.

VIPkids is listed in Fairfax County Public School's list of school vendors. Currently, the VIPkids Classes are available before school at Shrevewood Elementary School in Falls Church, VA, and after school at Mosby Woods Elementary School and Vienna Elementary School in Fairfax, VA, and Vienna, VA respectively.
